This is probably old news but I didn't see a forum thread on this.

mmogames.com is running a poll for the best mmo of 2014. You can vote once per 8 hours
We'd love to see EVE get the votes but as of writing this post, it has 3176 votes to Guild Wars 2's 8582, which is first place
On top of this, EVE isn't even mentioned in the sandbox or pvp category
Some people have left comments but the more, the better. We've seen such an amazing change with the new expansions and the awesome trailer. Lets show the world what this community can do and how much we appreciate the game CCP has created
Please take a moment to vote and if you can, leave a comment for EVE to be entered in the pvp and sandbox category

That's a fair point and I appreciate that. This is more about bring the community together. I'd like to think that some players would like to see this game get some recognition compared to other MMOs and I see this as a good way to do that. I doubt people are voting on that website based on which they feel is genuinely a better game. I'd imagine players are rallying behind their favorites. I'm just doing the same.

The big difference for me is that this is one big Sandbox, not single servers with different communities and experiences. It's a lot easier for us to have a cohesive voice... I hope

Just wanted to mention this quickly. It was on the other forum on this topic set up by corebloodbrothers of the CSM
If you want to vote for other games, that's fine. It's your vote after all.
If you want to complain about the state of EVE, this voting drive or EVE's nomination suitability in various categories, that's fine too. Everyone's entitled to have an opinion.
I'd ask however that this thread not be used for those 2 points. This is purely for drumming up support. As i've said before, this for me is about making a statement on our community, therefore I care about the outcome. Others may not, but I do.
I don't care about which website is hosting the vote, how popular it or not it is or how much traffic we are driving to their website. I care about making a statement about this community which i'm honored and proud to be part of. I'd like other places outside of EVE see that.
If you want to make your points on who else you want to vote for or what you think of EVE, there are other and better places on this forum to do that. Of course I can't stop you from posting here, I can only ask.

It's simple, this is a statement about our community. While people may say what they like about the game or CCP, no-one can match the drive this community has. We share one world, not separate realms. Unlike other games, we have the unique opportunity to impact our world and leave a legacy.
We will fight on any battle ground, big or small. No matter what the odds, when the call is made, we will rise up. We may have our differences in game but compared to other MMO communities, we stand together. That's the point. Others may call that stupid or pointless but I disagree and many agree with us.
A new player seeing that on even a small website is potentially another new pilot. That might not be much but all of us started that way. Who knows who these new players will become in time?
Let the world see what our community is made off.
